The malls are usually bustling with activity especially during the day and are therefore also a fun place for afternoon strolls.

The coast of Cape Town is a fun place to be especially in the summer when the weather is hot and there are a lot of people on the beach. There are a lot of fun activities to engage in. Swimming, surfing and diving are the most common.  There are also other activities like water sports, whale watching, shark diving and sailing.

In case you are still thirsty for adventure, the mountains of Cape Town are the perfect setting for a couple of dare-devil but fun activities. Rock climbing and paragliding are the most popular. They are well controlled by experts who ensure that you are having fun safely. Rock climbing is physically demanding and guaranteed to get you into shape as it is fun as well as good exercise.

Whether you are conservative and reserved or just downright mad for fun, you are bound to enjoy yourself immensely while on a South Africa travel adventure. The streets are generally safe but make sure you keep to well lit and well populated areas. Do not go looking for places you are not familiar with at night as you are likely to get lost.

Also, if you drink, choose your limits and drink to a level which you can control. Choose who you interact with carefully and steer clear of suspicious people or people who make you uncomfortable. Whether to bring the kids along or leave them behind when going out at night is up to you depending on the activities you have lined up and where you are going. However, the wise choice would be to leave them behind.

Lovers of nightlife have a long list of to-dos to choose from, each as fun as the next. Cinemas in Cape Town are mostly busier at night than they are during the day. You can catch up with the latest movies whether PG rated for the whole family or X-rated for the adults among you. Buy a ticket and you are good to go. If you like live band performances and concerts, watch out for flyers, posters and other advertisements showing scheduled performances at various restaurants around town.

The most popular bands are rock bands but Jazz bands have a great pull as well. Rock bands are mostly popular with the younger crowd while Jazz appeals more to the older generation. If you appreciate gentle instrumental music and strong voices as well as graceful controlled movements, you will no doubt have fun attending operas and ballets in Cape Town. The most popular place for these shows is the Nico Malan opera house on the foreshore of Cape Town.

Fans and lovers of drama are bound to witness outstanding performances from Cape Town’s talented folks of theatre. You can catch a local play or an international musical in Cape Town’s theatres. You can also laugh yourself silly at a hilarious comedy show. If you happen to be in Cape Town in September, then you are in luck because you get the chance to attend the Cape Town International Comedy Festival held in a number of venues across the city.

If you are of legal age and seeking to have another sort of fun, you can lose yourself in one of Cape Town’s “Gentlemen’s clubs” and watch beautiful half dressed ladies sliding up and down poles. Lap dances are also offered to clients for a fee. However, you have to be an adult to gain entry and proof of ID will be required. If you just want to dance, socialize and have a few drinks, you can join other South Africans in clubs and bars dotted all over Cape Town. The most of these clubs are located along Kloff Street and Long Street in the city centre. The standard age for admission is normally 18yrs though some clubs may take it up to 21yrs probably to reduce overcrowding. The clubs normally stay open until morning but you can come and go as you wish.

The most popular clubs among the Gay community are “The Loft” located on 24 Napier Street, De Waterkant and “The Bronx” on 35 Somerset Road, Green Point.
