Seychelles Tours & Vacations- Hotels and accommodation overview

The accommodation options in the Seychelles are as numerous and varied. There is currently a rise in the sprouting of new and refurbished hotels adding to the existing 5-star luxury hotels.

Sixteen of the 115 islands offer accommodation and expectations point toward more of the islands playing host to fresh accommodation options. With a hospitality and service culture edging in the peripheries of Worlds-best, you will want to live on the Islands forever.

Starting with Mahe Island, let’s take a look at Banyan Tree Seychelles. Being one of the most luxurious of them all, it also boats of being a member of the Leading Small Hotels of the World. The Villa offers a spectacular view over the sparkling Indian Ocean from a spacious and also a small private swimming pool. After a long day excursion, the Spa will ensure a soothing time with ancient traditional Asian treatments. Water activities available on request include kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling and windsurfing. The Diving Centre is 20 minutes drive away and sailing can also be arranged. If you’re the indoor type, they have Tennis, Volleyball and gym options for you. Together with a beauty salon and a shop for artifacts it will be a heaven for the lady traveler. Some say that Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove is arguably the best known hotel in the Seychelles. With 70 rooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars and located o the beautiful Beau Vallon beach, it’s perfectly placed. The hotel is highly regarded by diving and snorkeling enthusiasts due to its convenient placement at the beachside. Water activities available include swimming, sailing, parasailing, windsurfing, diving, deep sea fishing, hobie cat and water skiing. Also has a fitness spa, gift shop. Baby sitting is available and they also have a children’s menu. Cost: From £1,685 for 7 nights BB. This includes flights, 7 nights’ accommodation, and transfers by private car.

How about some romance in one of the leading hotels in Seychelles? The Sunset Beach Hotel will serve you a great deal of that special feeling with some of the best sunset vistas on earth reflecting on the Indian Ocean. It’s located a few minutes from the capital, Victoria, 15 minutes from Seychelles and within easy reach of Mahe’s main attractions. All rooms are well equipped with air conditioning, fans, en-suite bathroom, terrace, and other necessary amenities. Living to its reputation as the honeymooners hub, it offers newly-wed couples: a romantic candle light dinner, flower arrangement, bottle of sparkling wine and a 20% discount for the bride on BB basis. Cost: standard double at $419 -510.

Onwards to the Praslin Island we find the 5 star Lemuria Resort, the only one with a free golf on its list of goodies.  With an 18-hole championship golf course on the northwest coast of Praslin, it is popular with golfers, honeymooners and families on holiday. It is a 15 minute flight away from Mahe. In addition to 2 restaurants and 2 bars, it has 96suites, 8villas and 1 presidential villa. Water activities being charged include deep sea fishing and scuba diving. Free water sports include windsurfing, hobie catamarans, snorkeling, pedal boats and kayaks. On land they have golf, tennis, gym and beauty spa and mountain bikes for hire. Cost: 7 nights from £1,705 bb which includes flights, and transfers by plane & private car.

The Black Parrot Hotel, named after the very rare bird found on Praslin Island and located on the exhilarating Anse Bois de Rose Bay is the romantics dream Hotel. It offers seclusion while still giving you the chance to view many other islands from a spectacular viewpoint. All its junior suits have been refurbished. Black Parrot contains 12 suites with very large space and a luxuriously simple style of architecture. From each bed you have a great sea view as you enjoy their room facilities including: a semi-circular corner bath, bidet, air conditioning, IDD telephone, TV, mini bar and wall safe. All that in the comfort of a nice sitting area and a private balcony. Canoeing, wind surfing, snorkeling, squash, tennis gym, mini-golf, bicycles, fresh water swimming, playing chess, and excursions to Anse Lazio (one of the best beaches in the world) are some of the activity options available. Diving and deep sea fishing are on request. Cost: from $280 bb.

Previously being awarded the Certificate of Excellence by the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism for Best Small Hotel, 4 star wonder Le Duc de Praslin is a hotel to check out. In 2008, the hotel reopened after a one year closure for upgrading and extension and a look at it will validate the action. Set in a beautiful tropical and orchid garden, Le Duc de Praslin consists of 18 superior category, 2 junior suites, 2 large honeymoon suites, and 1 two bedroom family suite. It also has 2 restaurants, beach spa swimming pool with an attached Jacuzzi, lounge with library and internet connection. Cost: $210 double room on BB basis.

La Digue Island Lodge gives the hotels on it the benefit of the most charmingly beautiful surroundings. Apart from the traditional modes of transport (bicycle and ox carts), it’s graced with amazing beaches, lush vegetation and picture perfect scenery. Located on the Anse Reunion beach, the hotel with 60 rooms is divided into the Yellow House and the Plantation House. The Yellow House is a traditional colonial style with rooms decorated elegantly while the Plantation House presents superior rooms also styled colonially traditional. Its 20 minutes from Mahe by helicopter and has 2 restaurants, a souvenir shop, and baby-sitting services. In addition to that, they have a swimming pool and PADI certified diving centre backed with free daily excursion to La Digue and neighboring islands.  Cost: starting from: US$ 586 double room bb.

For a modest stay at La Digue, check into 4 star Paradise Flycatchers Lodge for a a homely stay. It offers 4 self catering units, each with 2 rooms, and is situated form the above mentioned Anse Reunion beach, La Digue. Each of its chalets consists of 2 units of one bedroom with a small terrace and contains air conditioning, fan, mini-bar, and a private bathroom. 1 bedroom accommodates 3 adults or 2 adults 1 child maximum while the 2 bedroom accommodates 6 adults or 4 adults + 2 children max. Cost: $188 double room bb.
