Singita Game Reserve Lodges - Voted For Best Hotels in Africa & Middle East

Singita Game Reserves, a South African based operator of luxury game lodges in Southern and East Africa, entered 2008 with a triumphant start as No. 1 in Africa in Travel + Leisure’s 500 World’s Best Hotels poll.

Applauded by this definitive USA travel magazine for its ‘architecture, cuisine and service that set the gold standard for bush luxury’, Singita took top honors with an impressive 94.3 points in the category for Best Hotel in Africa and the Middle East. Singita earned this title with its illustrious South African portfolio comprising the Singita Lebombo and Sweni lodges in the world-renowned Kruger National Park and Singita Boulders and Ebony lodges in the adjacent game-rich Sabi Sand Reserve.

The results of the sixth annual Travel + Leisure 500 Best Hotels listing were based on the magazine’s 2007 World’s Best reader survey to identify properties with the best rooms, services, amenities and perks, that set them apart from their competitors.

“The outcome of Travel + Leisure’s Top 500 listing attests to Singita’s undisputed international reputation in a market that expects only the highest standards. More importantly, South Africa proved that it is well able to benchmark itself internationally against the very best,” said Mark Witney, Singita Group Director.

Singita Sabi Sand has been voted ‘Best in the World’ in numerous top international travel polls, including ‘World’s No. 1 Destination’ by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine (USA) for three years. Singita Lebombo lodge is a former ‘Hotel of the Year’ winner as voted by the British magazine, Tatler.
