seychelles holidays and vacationsWhen one thinks of the Seychelles, the mind automatically drifts towards beauty, tourist attractions and a lot of tourists.

This chain of events calls for a look at how to get there and how to hop amongst all the enchanting places the paradise has to offer.

Whereas Seychelles archipelago might be edging slightly towards the pricey, the quality edges even deeper into the excellence, therefore money well spent. However there are clever deals that make it cheaper to get there and you are about to disclose them in a moment.

First things first, Air Seychelles is the main airline and national carrier of the region. International flights from around the world connect the Seychelles to Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and Australia through Seychelles International Airport-the main entry point into the island paradise.

The International Airport whose rehabilitation is in its advanced stages, is also a transit point for cargo en route to/from Africa and other international destinations.

Flights from Australia are through Singapore and one can book direct tickets from London. It is important to note that there are 3 Weekly flights from Nairobi, 2 from Mauritius and 3 from Comoros. The carrier also operates numerous inter island flights every day and even though its the national carrier, the market was recently opened to foreign based airlines namely Emirates, Qatar airways and Condor Airlines.

There are helicopter services between Mahé-the main island-Silhouette, Fregate and North Island. The Port of Victoria is one of the most attractive ports in the Indian Ocean as it is known to be one of the deepest most efficient and cost effective ports in the area.

For the best deals on Seychelles flights fare, make use of the following tips:- Try to set your departure date in the midweek or on low-volume travel days.  The use of specific search engines such as Consolidator Widget on bootsnall.com to search International Airfare Deals could prove very helpful.

The airfares here will be the cheapest possible but they will have restrictions attached so you have to be flexible in schedule and you have to stick to your itinerary to the letter. To get the tickets, just call the toll free numbers, and the representatives will assist. Other tips include splitting your trip into two roundtrip sections.

A stopover at a midpoint could cost you less, compared to flying a direct route. For instance, you could fly into Antananarivo in Madagascar and catch a connecting on one of Africa’s budget carriers. Although, make sure the savings are large enough to warrant the extra hassles of the stopover. Also make your reservations soon as you can, at least 21 days in advance since airlines give discounts for early bookings.

The best rates are those including a Saturday night stay and having travel dates during the week as mentioned earlier. Fly in the middle of the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the best days to fly. Monday and Friday are usually the most expensive (mainly due to business travellers often flying on these days). Saturdays can also turn up good deals.

Once you are in the Seychelles you will need to move around and there are several options including, buses, trains, ferries, helicopters, bicycles, and ox carts. The bus network is cheap and extensive and makes it very easy to get around. The services run from 0530hrs to 2200hrs and you should note that after 1800hrs it’s less frequent.

Taxis are quite a number and you could either get a direct phone line or easily hail one from the street as you navigate through the many attractions the island has to offer. It would be best if you agree the fare with the driver in advance if not telling him to use the meter for a more precise charge of service.

Car hire could also be an option with about a dozen car hire companies operating on Mahe and Praslin. The cars available vary from Mini-Mokes to chauffeured Mercedes-Benzes depending on your taste and/or wallet weight. The drivers must have valid a European Union or International License and it might be important to note that they drive on the left side of the road in Seychelles. Bicycles are a popular means of transport in La Digue and Praslin probably because they suit the atmosphere and landscape so perfectly.

For that special hop to the next island, Air Seychelles operates a shuttle service between Mahé and Praslin, averaging 20 return flights a day. Helicopter Seychelles specializes in island transfers, excursions and chartered scenic flights throughout the Seychelles, while The Islands Development Company (formerly the tiny Seychelles Air Force but now a government-owned corporation) operates fixed-wing flights to the Outer Islands.

The Inter Island Ferry Services also offers an idyllic sea crossing between Praslin and La Digue with scenic views and maximum comfort aboard their high-speed catamarans, with a capacity for 150 passengers. They operate daily.

The Cat Cocos is a modern 35-metre catamaran with a capacity of 350 passengers which operates up to four times a day between Mahé and Praslin in 1 hour. It’s quite comfy thanks to the state-of-the-art computer ride control system which automatically reduces or nullifies the risks of discomfort that may be caused by the movements of the sea.

Lastly, visas are not required for visitors to Seychelles, but you'll need an onward ticket, booked accommodation and sufficient funds for your stay. A one month Visitor's Permit-extendable on application-will is issued and on departure a 58.00 'Passenger Service Fee' is levied on all adult visitors. This fee is included in the price of the airline ticket.

With this transport options and easy visa procurement procedures, you are bound to enjoy every second of moving around Seychelles in comfort amid the great service and warm Seychellois natives.
